Ancona Community Plan
The Ancona community planning process was led by the community with support from Council officers demonstrating a true community and Council partnership. The community has finalised their community plan which was accepted by Council at the December meeting.
There are 4 actions in the Plan, which have been prioritised, two of which the community has sought Council support – the sealing of the Ancona Road and the building of a permanent BBQ and shelter adjacent to the Ancona Hall and tennis court.
The sealing of the road was noted and will be considered alongside other infrastructure priorities by Council as part of capital works forward planning.
Council agreed to support the BBQ and shelter project both financially and through assistance facilitating the project.
The Ancona community have already taken initiative in implementing the priority project of upgrading the Ancona Hall.
The key need identified by the community in the plan is to build relationships and plan more community gatherings and the BBQ and shelter project will address this need.
