Barjarg is a rural community nestled at the base of the Stratbogie Ranges and on the edge of Lake Nillahcootie. The community loves where they live and their key aim is to ensure it remains as great as it is today.
Over the past few years a few businesses have come and gone in Barjarg, but Barjarg Automotive Services still keeps locals on the road. There are a number of accommodation and B&B businesses scattered across the area and a few school camps taking advantage of the adventure opportunites in the area.
The Barjarg CFA is a crucial community group and new members are always very welcome. The Upper Broken River Landcare Group also meets and cares for the area.
Planning for the future of Barjarg
During 2011 the Barjarg community attended gatherings to share their ideas and contribute towards a vision for the future. That vision became the basis of the Barjarg Community Plan.
