European Wasps are out and about
March 09, 2017
Now is the time when European Wasps are buzzing about. They're searching for food and water, so can mainly be found around eating areas, litter bins and car grills (searching for dead bugs).
European wasps generally only travel a short distance from their nesting site - if you see one buzzing about, he probably has a nest nearby. Once you find a nest you can treat it yourself in a safe and responsible manner. This handy flyer from the Department of Sustainability and Environment will tell you what you'll need to European Wasps and how you can remove them.
Please note that Council employees will only remove nests found on Crown land.
