Council endorses its Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan

February 21, 2018

We recognise that good health and wellbeing is essential to a healthy and vibrant community. To support the health of our communities, Council endorsed its Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan (MPHWBP) 2017-21, a 4 year strategic plan that identifies the health status of our community.  The Plan, endorsed on 20 February 2018, was developed in partnership with the Mansfield District Hospital, and in consultation with members of the community and stakeholders.

The Plan focuses on specific areas for improvement for the whole population of Mansfield, including improving the health inequity of certain population groups currently experiencing poorer health and wellbeing outcomes, and sets the scene for the development of implementation plans for Council, health organisations and local community groups.

As the lead agency, we have ensured that this Plan is closely linked to our Council Plan 2017-21.  There is a clear line of sight from the Victorian Public Health and Wellbeing Plan 2015-19 to this Plan, which provides direction for public health sector organisations in the municipality to align priorities and develop collective preventative responses.
