Be Kind Stay Safe Project Delivers For Business

Council has worked closely with the business community and the Mansfield District Business Association (MDBA) to design and deliver the ‘Be Kind, Stay Safe’ project, welcoming visitors back to the Shire while supporting business with changing COVIDsafe requirements.
The Be Kind, Stay Safe project was funded by the Business Concierge grant. With those funds, Council consulted with businesses and delivered:
- 100 posters to help businesses with COVIDsafe requirements
- 120 posters for businesses to meet display requirements in their spaces
- 20 personalised posters and templates for businesses to personalise their posters
- 100 outdoor stickers
- 300 indoor stickers
- 4 large posters for community spaces, including the Community Noticeboard
The project delivered resources for businesses in Merrijig, Jamieson, Mansfield, Merton and Bonnie Doon.
Mayor Mark Holcombe said that Mansfield Shire’s business community had faced many challenges with changing restrictions and requirements.
“Our business community has been incredibly resilient and have shown real community leadership with their can-do attitude,” said Mayor Holcombe.
“We’re proud to be able to show this practical level of support after consulting directly on what materials would be most helpful in their day-to-day operation.”
Manager Reddrops Foodworks Mansfield Andrew Marshall said that the project had a great community message.
“The ‘Be Kind’ campaign, the colourful stickers and posters that spread such a good message, not just amongst our local community but also to our visitors and non-resident community, couldn’t have been timed better with Victoria opening up,” said Mr Marshall.
“Businesses and the community are generally in need of some kindness right now.”
