Bonnie Doon Community Centre Restumping

Council is set to commence work on the restumping of the Bonnie Doon Community Centre.

Mayor Cr James Tehan said the Community Centre provided an important hub for the Bonnie Doon community.

“The Bonnie Doon Community Group campaigned to save the building after the school closed in 1999. We’re proud to honour their work by maintaining the building for future generations.”

“The works will ensure the integrity of the structure, allowing the facility to continue to safely serve the community for many years to come,” said Cr Tehan.

Bonnie Doon Community Centre is located at 75 Arnot St, Bonnie Doon and will be closed to the community for the duration of works. Works are scheduled to begin on 18 January and expected to be completed by 11 February.

The Old Library building and Bonnie Doon Op Shop, which share the Community Centre site, are not impacted by the works and will continue to operate in line with their scheduled open hours.

The project is budgeted to cost $20,000 and is fully funded by Mansfield Shire Council.
