There are now more reasons to enjoy a stroll around Mansfield Botanic Park this summer with the installation of a new water station and bench seating completed by Mansfield Shire Council.
The water refill station was sponsored by Goulburn Valley Water and provides a spot to refill reusable drink bottles in addition to a drinking fountain.
Additional bench seating installed around the new playground provides places for rest along the walking track. They are strategically placed to allow for supervision of children using the playground equipment.
Mayor Cr James Tehan said the works enhanced the functionality of the playground and Botanic Park.
“The Botanic Park is a well loved space and we know that the Mansfield community is always interested in its developments,” said Cr Tehan.
“Since its opening in June, we’ve had great feedback about the playground. These additions enhance how the community use the playground and Botanic Park.”
The project, including materials, landscaping and installation of the seating and water station, has been fully funded by Council at a cost of $19,000. Two additional picnic tables are scheduled for installation near the playground in February 2022.
