Mansfield Shire Council is honoured to celebrate and promote Women's Health Week 2023, a pivotal event dedicated to advancing women’s health and wellbeing across Australia.

Running from September 4, this week is a powerful call-to-action for women, communities, and workplaces to actively participate in promoting health and preventive measures.

Recognised as one of Australia’s foremost events in the realm of public health, Jean Hailes Women’s Health Week is dedicated to the health of all women. This year the theme is “grow your knowledge” to support women to make informed decisions about their health with information that is easy to understand.

Mansfield Shire Council, in collaboration with Mansfield Respond, Country Women’s Association, Women in North East Network and LouFit Personal Training, will kick off the week with an event.

Taking place at the Country Women’s Association, the event will provide information on women’s health with a focus on prevention checks that can be done, when they should be done, and at what stage of life.

Nola Bales, Executive Manager, Community Health and Wellbeing, said this was a significant week and encouraged the community to become involved.

“Women’s Health Week is a call to recognise the immense strength and potential of women when they are empowered with health knowledge and resources,” she said.

“As a community this is a great opportunity for us to come together, and our aim is to inspire every woman to take control of her health, understanding that the choices made today lay the foundation for future wellbeing."

Throughout the week the program consists of a different daily topic, from health checks to understanding pain, hormones, women’s health in the workplace and nutrition. Keep an eye out on social media for further information relating to program topics throughout the week.
