Council Produces Mini Documentary Series

Published on 01 April 2022

A series of mini documentaries explaining key projects has been developed by Mansfield Shire Council.

The short videos describe projects including:

  • Upgrades to Rifle Butts Road - Explains how Council uses PolyCom Stabilising Aid to improve the longevity of a gravel road
  • Bonnie Doon Community Centre Restumped - Describes the project and features an interview with Gabby Nowicki, Manager Bonnie Doon Community Centre, to explore how the project benefited the community.
  • Major Works on Barwite Road - Demonstrates how major culverts will resolve ongoing issues with the surface quality of Barwite Road by effectively draining water from the road.

Another video is currently in production to explore how works are developing on the Heavy Vehicle Alternative Route.

Mayor Cr James Tehan said Council was pleased to present the videos to help the community understand the complexities involved in major projects.

“A visual exploration of these major projects is one way we can demonstrate the quality of work being performed by Council,” said Cr Tehan.

“It was great to be part of the process of developing one of the short films. We hope our community enjoy the films and learn about some of Council’s works.”

The videos were produced by Fabian Rukshan, Project Officer and Warren Coad, Project Technical Officer at Mansfield Shire Council.

Fabian Rukshan, Project Officer, said the mini documentaries provided an opportunity to demonstrate Council’s work in a new way.

“The videos are produced in a way that can really help people understand the work that goes into upgrading our roads and assets. When you work for Council, you get lots of questions about processes and how works are completed. Through the videos, we get to show these processes first-hand,” said Mr Rukshan.

You can subscribe to Council’s YouTube channel and watch the documentaries or follow Council’s Facebook page.
