Mansfield Shire Council is hosting a free screening of Nextwave’s National Youth Film Festival at the Mansfield Armchair Cinema on Wednesday 6 April 2022.

Nextwave is Australia’s largest youth film development program. The film festival comprises shortlisted films that have been developed through a series of workshops. The festival, which will be screened in the event, is released in time to celebrate National Youth Week from 4-14 April 2022.

Council’s Youth Officer, Kylie Peel, said this year’s screening was made special by the success of local student and filmmaker, Emily Doig, having her film ‘Unspoken’ featured in the festival.

“The talent of young filmmakers promises to entertain and impress at this event. Anyone interested in seeing the best contemporary youth short films should come along. Particularly those who are interested in developing their filmmaking skills,” said Ms Peel.

Tickets are free but limited. If the event books out, please sign up for the wait list.
