Mansfield Shire Council and the Goughs Bay Area Progress Association have partnered to develop a project plan for the Goughs Bay Streetscape Project. The project plan is now open for community consultation.
The Progress Association strongly advocated for works that would reflect the character of their township’s community, add amenity, and beautify the area. Council has committed $50,000 to enhance the streetscape and address the unique needs of the Goughs Bay community.
Council has used ideas gathered by the Progress Association to create a project plan. The project plan includes:
Mayor Cr James Tehan said the project was underpinned by Council’s town planning policies and a commitment to the beauty and amenity of public areas.
“We now want to make sure we consult with the many people who visit, play and stay in Goughs Bay. This is an important community project, and we are pleased to partner with the Progress Association to develop the plan. We now want to make sure that everyone who considers themselves a Goughs Bay community member has the chance to review and provide feedback through this community consultation.”
