Have Your Say - Early Budget Consultation
Published on 12 January 2024
Council would like to hear from the community on priorities and ideas for consideration as part of the 2024-25 Budget and for Council’s 10 Year Capital Works Plan.
In developing the annual budget Council works through what is required to operate business as usual and to fund the annual capital works renewal program. Customer requests received throughout the year are also reviewed to see what can be included in the Budget.
Mayor Cr Steve Rabie said that the early budget engagement undertaken by Council in 2023 provided Council with some great feedback, with 102 submissions received from community last year. Cr Rabie said he was excited by the opportunity for the community again to be involved in the budget development process and encouraged everyone to put forward their ideas for consideration.
“Our community knows Mansfield Shire best. We want to hear from you as this will help us to understand what projects are the most important to the community, so that we can continue to deliver projects and services that match the needs of our community,” he said.
“Council is committed to ensuring we listen to the community throughout our four-year term, and we see this as a great opportunity to keep doing this.”
Council will consider all ideas submitted during development of the 2024-25 Budget, prior to endorsement of the draft budget for formal community consultation.
Once endorsed by Council for consultation, the community will have a second opportunity to comment on the proposed 2024-25 Mansfield Shire Council Budget.
To share your ideas, residents can visit the main Council building located at 33 Highett Street, Mansfield and utilise the Kiosk anytime between 8:30am to 4:30pm Mon-Fri or complete the "submit an idea" survey on the Engage Mansfield website engage.mansfield.vic.gov.au.
