Have Your Say on the Draft Mansfield Planning Strategy
Published on 19 November 2021
Council is asking the community to provide feedback on its draft Mansfield Planning Strategy 2040.
Mayor Cr James Tehan said the process of drafting the Strategy had many important implications.
“During the community visioning process, the community made it abundantly clear that the unique character of the shire is a key priority. This Strategy tells us what that character is and how we can make decisions that enhance the community’s vision for the character of the Shire,” said Cr Tehan.
“As we face extreme population growth, the Planning Strategy guides how we respond to that change while protecting and enhancing valued economic, environmental, local character and landscape features of our shire.”
“I encourage every community member to view the Strategy and provide feedback in the way that best suits them. This is a complex document but it is important to the future of the Shire so you can attend a drop in session, visit a marquee, attend an online forum or read more and provide feedback online,” said Cr Tehan.
The draft Planning Strategy is on exhibition from 23 November 2021 to 28 January 2022.
