The High Country Festival has moved to dryer ground at Erril Street for its opening night festivities on Friday 28 October. Fireworks will then be launched from the Mansfield Recreation Reserve.

Mayor Cr James Tehan said the opening night was a favourite of our community and this year promised to deliver great entertainment and activities for all.

“Erril Street will host a fantastic opening night for the High Country Festival,” said Cr Tehan.

The event will include:

  • Food and wine
  • Children’s games and activities
  • Carnival activities
  • Market stalls
  • The FReeZA Youth Concert, headlined by Triple J Unearthed High Winner Jacotene
  • Designated quiet zone with sensory activities and a chillout space, as well as a designated quiet time from 4-5pm.

“Erril Street has been a successful event site, most recently hosting the Mansfield Lantern Festival. It’s been a very wet couple of weeks so by holding the event in Erril Street instead of at Mansfield Botanic Park, we get to enjoy the night without too much mud.

“We’re looking forward to seeing the community get together for one of the biggest celebrations on our events calendar,” said Cr Tehan.
