Jamieson township has recently received its final drainage upgrade works on Mary Street as part of the Jamieson Drainage Upgrade Project.
Works included rectifying current drainage issues and extending the concrete footpath along Perkins Street to Mary Street.
These works followed the completion of drainage reconstruction near the CFA Building in Brown St, along with road sealing and kerb and channel works near the corner of Grey and Perkins Street at the new electric vehicle (EV) charging station, installed by the Jamieson Community Group.
Mayor Cr James Tehan said these works will not only enhance the visual appeal but also safety and drainage functionality in the area.
“Delivering projects such as this is a top priority for Council, and we’re proud to have delivered on this commitment,” he said.
“These upgrades will improve drainage and footpath functionality in Jamieson, creating a safer, more accessible area for all users.”
The Mary Street works were completed by Squizcrete and are funded by Council as part of the annual Capital Works Program.
