The Malcom Street Shared Path project is progressing with a 129 metre long section of concrete footpath widening now complete.
Works were undertaken by contractor Ground Technique Pty Ltd and included widening the existing concrete path from 1m to 2.5m width between 93 to 103 Malcolm Street. Further works to spray seal other sections of the path are anticipated to start in spring, weather permitting.
General Manager Infrastructure & Planning, Melissa Crane said the new section of the shared path will provide a safer route for all users, improving connectivity for residents and visitors.
“We are keeping these works advancing and will keep the community updated on this project.” she said. “We look forward to seeing the remainder of the path completed later this year.”
This project is jointly funded by Council and the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) through the TAC Local Government Grant Program. The total cost for this section of the shared path was $30,246.62 (excluding GST).
