Mansfield Open Space Strategy - Engage with Us
Published on 13 April 2022
The draft Mansfield Open Space Strategy has been released by Mansfield Shire Council for public comment.
Mayor Cr James Tehan said the Strategy would guide Council as it made decisions about open spaces in Mansfield.
“During this period of unforeseen population growth, our open spaces, including our parks, gardens and how we connect to those spaces becomes more important,” said Cr Tehan.
“This is a critical strategy for the sustainable development of our town. It addresses how Council creates and maintains open spaces, how our community access infrastructure such as playgrounds and recreational reserves and how future generations will continue to enjoy the beauty and unique character of our Mansfield township,” said Cr Tehan.
“It’s no secret that Mansfield is a beautiful place to live. That’s why we’ve seen three times the forecast population growth. Our open space strategy is one way we can protect what has made our town so attractive to begin with.”
