Priority Concrete Footpath Repairs
Published on 24 February 2023
Works to repair concrete footpaths in identified priority locations around Mansfield will commence on 13 March as part of asset renewal works included in the 2022-23 Council Budget.
The $25,023.04 contract was awarded to Tradetech Services Australia, with works planned for completion by the end of March, weather dependent.
The following concrete footpaths are scheduled for repair works:
- Intersection of Mitchell Court and Highton Lane, Mansfield
- 26A Highett Street, Mansfield
- 1 Maple Tree Boulevard, Mansfield
- 5 Acacia Close, Mansfield
The proposed work includes the removal and replacement of concrete footpath sections including replacing uneven, damaged or broken areas to maintain a path surface that is safe and fit for community use.
Mayor Cr James Tehan said the renewal of existing footpaths is important to maintain pedestrian safety, and the locations are carefully selected through Council’s asset inspections and through community feedback.
“Council understands keeping footpaths well-maintained is a high priority for the community, and we want to ensure that people can walk to town in a safe way” he said.
Traffic management will be place at the intersection of Highton Lane and Mitchell Court and 26A Highett Street between 8.00 am and 5.00 pm with a reduced speed limit of 40km/h. Access to affected premises will be maintained during these times. Drivers are advised to travel safely and follow the directions of traffic controllers and road signage when travelling in the area.
