Bonnie Doon residents and visitors are encouraged to give feedback on streetscape upgrades proposed for the town including the area near Bon Crescent and the Community Centre.
Council is seeking to improve the appearance and township character at these public locations based on the ideas and priorities generated from community members involved in the Bonnie Doon Recreational Reserve Community Reference Group and broader community feedback from the Bonnie Doon community planning.
Various features have been proposed at each area. At Bon Crescent they include an enhanced garden with a sculpture and lighting, a mural at the public toilets and signage depicting the history of the well. Proposals at the Community Centre include a refurbished barbecue area, a new children’s bike track, a shade sail for the playground and a fitness station for adults.
Mayor Cr James Tehan said Council is looking forward to receiving feedback from the community and finding out what improvements are most important to them.
“We’ve aimed to present options that will benefit residents and visitors of all ages and abilities, and we believe there’s something here for everybody.
“It is important to Council that we focus on the community’s highest priorities for allocation of funds, so I encourage you to have your say as we want to hear from as many people as possible to ensure we get the plan right” he said.
Community feedback made through Engage Mansfield will be used to finalise what features are included and develop a project plan for the upgrades which are expected to be completed later in 2023.
