Summer is coming and Mansfield’s High Street roundabout garden will transform again to suit the changing of the season.

Parks and Gardens Supervisor Lauren McGinty said the next major planting included geraniums which had been removed and stored over winter.

“We’ve been feeding the geraniums and making sure they are looking their best for their return to the roundabout,” said Ms McGinty.

“The salvias were cut back and covered with sugar cane mulch to keep them nice and warm over winter. We’re hoping the warmer weather will also prompt their healthy return to add to the display.”

This display should last through summer and be replaced as frosts return next autumn.

The roundabout plantings coincide with an annual garden bed changeover where the pansies in various garden beds around Mansfield will be replaced with petunias.

Mayor Mark Holcombe said the roundabout was a symbol of the care Council took in maintaining the aesthetic of the Shire.

“We’re proud of the work done to continue the colourful displays at the roundabout throughout the year. It’s a colourful welcome to everyone who enters Mansfield,” said Mayor Holcombe.
