Summer Holiday Fun at Mansfield Library

Bracelet making, LEGO masterpieces, jigsaws and movies are all on offer at Mansfield Library these school holidays.
Mayor Cr Steve Rabie invited families to participate in the school holiday program at the Library.
“We’re pleased to be able to offer a great program of school holiday activities for children and families, including The Big Summer Read, which adds an extra layer of excitement to summer reading,” he said.
Big Summer Read
The Big Summer Read is all about keeping kids reading over the summer break and making it fun. Mansfield Library invites all children aged 4+ to participate and be in the running to win great prizes.
Participating is easy:
- Visit the Library
- Collect a gift and a reading record
- Collect a prize for every 10 books read
- Go into the prize draw to win 1 of 3 vouchers from Ink Bookshop. Book vouchers worth $100, $50 and $25 have been generously donated by Mansfield Friends of the Library.
The Big Summer Read runs until Wednesday 24 January 2024.
Kumihimo Bracelets
Join the ladies from CWA and learn how to make these colourful Japanese bracelets.
- Friday 12 January 10:30AM – 12 noon. Ages 5-8
- Tuesday 16 January 10.30AM – 12 noon. Ages 8-12
Boat making
Make and decorate a simple wooden boat. Attach an elastic band used for propelling the boat and test it in water. Ages 5-7.
Jigsaw Day
Thursday 18 January – all day
The Library has 100’s of jigsaws. Spend some time relaxing in the Library and putting together a jigsaw puzzle or two of your choice. All ages.
LEGO Fun
Tuesday 16 and Tuesday 23 January, 2.00pm – 4.00pm.
Come and create a LEGO masterpiece with the Library’s huge LEGO collection.
Movies
- Paddington 2, Wednesday 10 January 2.30-4.30pm. Ages 5+
- The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Wednesday 17 January 2.30 – 4.30pm. Ages 9+
