Summer Shade

A range of umbrellas and new seating make a welcome addition to High Street ahead of the warmer summer months. The improvements provide more options for the community and visitors to enjoy the township and take advantage of the many take away dining options available.

Mayor Cr James Tehan said these improvements will help to make the median strip a hive of activity over the warmer months.

“We are fortunate to have such an attractive, green space that makes our shopping precinct such a pleasure to be in,” he said.

“The idea is to draw people to the main street to enjoy take away meals, relax, take a break from shopping or catch up with friends in a space that is shady and safe from the sun,” he said.

“This alongside the additional seating already in place, the festoon lighting and the new amphitheatre space at the eastern end of High Street will ensure that we are ‘summer ready’ for our expected influx of visitors over the coming months.”

The umbrellas and picnic tables were funded by the State Government’s Outdoor Activation Fund.
