Council has refurbished the climbing wall at the Mansfield Sporting Complex.
The project included a complete strip down, clean and repaint of the wall and refurbishment of existing holds.
Local climbing enthusiast Caleb Stoneman advised and assisted on the project and said that the course now accommodated challenges for users at all levels.
“The existing holds were refitted with new stainless steel bolts. An additional 50 holds were added to the wall, which now has a total 230 holds,” said Mr Stoneman.
“New climbing routes have been designed with an emphasis on catering for younger participants.”
Mayor Cr James Tehan said he was pleased to see so much activity at the Mansfield Sporting Complex.
“It’s great to see the upgrades to the Mansfield Sporting Complex. There is so much development to fit our growing, active and healthy community and the new climbing wall adds another athletic opportunity for users,” said Cr Tehan.
The works were completed at no cost to Council and were funded by a donation made to Council for hosting the Hayley Wilson mural at the Mansfield Sporting Complex.
