With Stage 2 of the Library Refurbishment now complete, the internal fit out is about to commence requiring a closure at the Collopy Street site from 12 noon on 17 December. A limited library service will be available for users at the Visitor Information Centre (VIC) from 9.30 am on 10 January 2023 until the refurbishment works are completed in March/April 2023.

The period for items currently on loan will be extended until Tuesday 17 January 2023.  Items can also be returned to the Customer Service Desk at the Shire Offices, 33 High Street, Mansfield during office hours, 8.30am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday.

The limited Library service at the VIC will offer Click and Collect as well as a wide selection of children’s books, WiFi, public computers, photocopying, printing and scanning.

Preschool Storytime will continue January to March and be held at the Youth Centre in Erril Street.

Mayor Cr James Tehan said the highly anticipated Mansfield Library Refurbishment is coming along quickly and due for completion in March 2023.

‘Once completed, the Library will be a comfortable and contemporary space, designed to reflect the landscape and character of the Mansfield Shire environment,” he said.

“The larger floor space will include a purpose-built children’s area, spaces for study, remote work as well as room hire providing a new contemporary space for the community to enjoy.”

The Realising Mansfield Library’s Potential project, including the design and construction of the refurbished library, was made possible with $543,511 of funding provided through the Victorian Government’s Living Libraries Infrastructure program.
