TAC L2P Program
The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) L2P Program is a community-based program developed to assist eligible young Victorian learner drivers between the ages of 16 and 21 years (and in some circumstances, up to 23 years) who do not have access to a supervising driver, or an appropriate vehicle gain driving experience required for a probationary licence.
Learners
To join the Mansfield Shire Council L2P program, you need to meet the following criteria:
- be between 16 and 21 years (in some circumstances we will consider applicants up to 23 years)
- have a current Learner's Permit
- Not have access to an appropriate vehicle
- not have any health issues that affect safe driving
- be unable to achieve the 120 hours of required practice without the L2P program due to challenging financial, family or personal circumstances
- be living in Mansfield Shire

Volunteer Mentors
We are looking for Mentors! So, if you have 2 hours to spare each week, enjoy driving and would like to work with young people to assist them in their 120 hours of driving experience then this might be the position for you.
To be considered as a volunteer mentor you need to meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Be over 21 years of age
- Hold current full Australian driver's licence
- Have satisfactory driver license history report
- Be medically fit to drive (we may discuss this further through the application process)
Volunteer mentors are trained by Vic roads and need to complete police and licence checks and have a Working with Children’s Check as they will be working with vulnerable young people.
