Financial Counsellor (0.4 FTE)

Mansfield Shire Council is looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and community focused individual to take up the role of Financial Counsellor. The Financial Counsellor delivers the financial counselling services to clients through case work, including undertaking initial assessments, advocacy, negotiation, information provision and referral. This contributes to increase their financial resilience and enable them to make decisions that will provide the opportunity to maximise control of their financial situation.

Reporting to the Executive Manager Community Health and Wellbeing, the role also includes providing community education to individuals, their families and groups, which address key financial problems and issues. The Financial Counsellor will also be responsible for providing independent and practical assistance, advocacy, options and information to people in financial difficulty.

Remuneration will be based on Band 6 Level A classification, $87,215.44 (pro rata) per annum plus superannuation according to the Mansfield Shire Council Enterprise Agreement 2024.

This is a fixed term position until 30 June 2026.
